Senior Pastor - Rev. Phillip A. Winsett

I have been privileged to serve as Senior Pastor to the Martinez Baptist Church for the past seventeen years. I believe the God inspired, infallible Word of God. My heart’s desire is to see the life changing power of God transform broken lives into God fearing believers in Christ. At MBC classes are available for all age groups.

Many people know about our Lord, but so many have never experienced the Gospel of Christ. Maybe you are seeking more about God or wanting to mature in Christ, I would like to invite you to come and join with us.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church and make an appointment.

I welcome you and look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday at Martinez Baptist Church.

Music - Mrs. Evelyn Winsett

Evelyn’s heart is God’s church, a local body of believers knit together as His family serving alongside each other.  She states: We have been honored to be with Martinez Baptist Church for over 17 years, and in those years God has matured and nurtured us through many of His most faithful people.  Martinez Baptist has a long legacy of being a church that loves to worship through music, and it is a vital part of our service each Sunday.  Before leading music, Evelyn earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, and enjoyed many years of teaching.  She also studied and achieved an Associate of Music before studying education.  She says she has now returned to her first love – that of singing and praising the Lord with fellow musicians.  At present, the church has a Sanctuary Choir and a group of senior citizens from various churches (The Singing Seniors) that enjoy bringing music to various nursing and assisted living homes in the Augusta area.  Plans are being made to start a Youth Choir and Band to help the younger generation be involved in worship also.  She fervently believes in a multi-generational body of believers equipping the saints and furthering the Kingdom of God through service.  Her greatest fulfillment is getting to be involved in the Lord’s work alongside her husband in ministry, no matter the task.  To her, there is no greater calling.
